The 2013 festival

Manchester’s fourth Cultural Collage World Music Festival will take place in venues across the city centre between Thursday 12th and Friday 27th September 2013.

The Cultural Collage World Music Festival is the only Manchester event to promote professional world music from the city’s diverse communities. It was started in 2010 by a voluntary group comprising local world music radio producers, promoters and performers, attracting around 8,000 attendees to its first programme of events.

In May 2011, thanks to generous Grants for the Arts funding support from Arts Council England and local sponsorship,  the festival featured more than 20 events in 14 venues across Manchester city centre.

Our programme has included performers from around the globe, including DR Congo, Bulgaria, Jamaica, the Gambia, Argentina, Brazil, India and many other countries and we have also included dance workshops and world DJ nights.

This year we have changed the festival to September as this is a quieter time in Manchester’s events calendar.
